Sisters Amanda and Rachel are the owners and shared "The Wonder Workshop is a creative space dedicated to kids’ artistic exploration, crafts, learning, and endless fun! We believe in inspiring young minds to experiment, create, and discover new ways to express themselves through hands-on activities. From painting and sculpture to mixed media and DIY crafts, every session is designed to spark curiosity and let imagination run wild! In addition to our regular classes we will be hosting Art camps, private parties and adult only workshops."

P.A.I.N.T Art Program (Brentwood)- A non-profit program designed to serve individuals showing talent, interest or motivation in the arts. All abilities welcome!
Starry Nite Studios (Brentwood)- Locally owned art studio offering family-friendly painting classes and events.
Sweet G's Cookie Studio (Brentwood)- They offer a variety of cookie classes. Check their calendar for availability.
The Creative Space (Dixon)- Classes, workshops and events for creatives.
The Wonder Workshop (Brentwood)- A brand new space coming to Brentwood in March offering classes, camps, parties and open workshop time for drop in art and creativity!

Chuck E Cheese (Brentwood)- In addition to lots of arcade games, this Chuck E Cheese offers a new trampoline park inside. Must be under 56” to jump.
Joystick (Dixon)- This new spot in Dixon offers an arcade, board games and food. It's a great place for birthday parties or drop in for some family fun!
Sky Zone (Brentwood)- Drop in to this local trampoline park for more than just jumping on a trampoline. They have dodgeball, jousting, and basketball, all on giant trampolines.

Restaurants/Fast Food with indoor playgrounds - Grab a bite and get some wiggles out on a rainy day at these locations:
2351 Balfour Rd. Brentwood- this location has a large indoor play area with tunnels. Best for slightly older kids.
7455 Brentwood Blvd. Brentwood- a smaller play area with a few small climbing structures. Best for very young kids.
914 Main St. Oakley- another great large indoor play area with tunnels and a basketball hoop. Great for big kids.
La Michoacana Plus- 50 Sand Creek Rd. Brentwood- This coffee and dessert shop features a colorful small play area with a slide and climbing structure.
Menchies- 2530 Sand Creek Rd. Unit B-2 Brentwood- There is a small kids seating area with games to play while you eat your frozen yogurt.
Escape Rooms and other Teen/Tween picks
Axes & Ales (Brentwood)- Think darts, but with Axes! Great for parties or a family fun day. Plus they have food and other games.
Historical
Dixon Historical Society & Museum (Dixon)- In addition to visiting the museum to learn more about the history of Dixon, check their events calendar for fun events and tours.
East Contra Costa County Historical Museum (Brentwood)- The East Contra Costa Historical Museum is comprised of several buildings with displays that share the history of our area. Visit their website for hours and special events.
Rio Vista Museum (Rio Vista)- Drop in to learn about the history of Rio Vista. People of the surrounding area contributed historical artifacts and the community has incorporated its own unique history into the museum.
Libraries
Brentwood Library- One of the biggest libraries in the county. The library offers a number of programs for all ages, including storytimes for babies and toddlers
Clarksburg Library- A cute library in a small town with a great children's section. Check their calendar for events.
Dixon Library- The Dixon Library was founded in 1912 and one of the few remaining Carnegie Library buildings still operating as a library in the United States. They offer a wide variety of events for kids of all ages.
Oakley Library- Established in 1913, the Oakley Library is one of the oldest Contra Costa County libraries. They offer a wide variety of programs. One of our family's favorites is Lego Club. Visit their calendar for more details.
Rio Vista Library- Check out the Rio Vista Library for great books and great children's events. They offer lots of weekly classes and events, especially for teens. Check their calendar for more info.
Movie Theaters and Performace Theaters & Stages
AMC Movie Theater (Brentwood)- Located in The Streets of Brentwood, this theater offers reserved seating and discounts on Tuesdays. (Check their website for current discount info)
The Delta Theater (Brentwood)- This theater is a well known part of Downtown Brentwood and was recently completely renovated. In addition to movies, you can rent the space for private events including live performances.
Nature
Big Break Visitor's Center (Oakley)- In addition to being a great place to explore outside, you can drop in to their visitors center to learn more about the Delta. Visit their events calendar and drop in to one of their many free, kid-friendly events!
Shop & Play
Barnes & Noble (Brentwood)- Opening at the end of January, Barnes & Noble will have a children's section with books, toys and games, as well as host storytimes and other family-friendly events.
The Little & Brave Boutique (Brentwood)- While you shop for your little ones, they have a small play area to keep little ones busy. Check their events calendar for in store events, as well.
Steam & Hands on fun
Be Exceptional Programs (Brentwood)- Be Exceptional offers classes for all abilities. Check out their full calendar of events including drop in classes. Plus they have a sensory room that you can book a reservation for. See their website for full details.
Delta First 5 Center (Brentwood)- Drop in to their play area during open play times and let your children 5 and under socialize with other children and play with new toys. This center is a free community resource.
The Playhouse (Brentwood)- The Playhouse is a fun play space designed for little ones 5 and under. Play times are 90 minutes and you can reserve your spot in advanced on their website.
The Dough house (Brentwood)- Drop in to The Dough House during their walk in hours to create your own playdough or slime.
