Heer's Socials Is Bringing Local Families Together With Their Events

Find them at their monthly Family Fun Days at Brownstone Gardens in Oakley

In my quest to bring you all of the family-friendly, fun events happening right here in our area I stumbled upon a company called Heer's Socials that is putting on fantastic events for you and your family to enjoy. Everything from live music, food, kids activities, games, workshops and more.  Pretty much everything you're looking for when you want something fun to do as a family on the weekend is all included in their events.

When I found them, I knew that you needed to hear about them, so I reached out to Cyndee, who is one of the founders of Heer's Socials (along with her Daughter-in-Law Danielle) and asked her a few questions to get to know Heer's Socials a little better. Here's a snapshot of our conversation.

What inspired you to start your business?

My Daughter-In-Law, Danielle Heer, and I started this business because we believe in FAMILY. We love doing things with all three generations, yet sometimes we want to enjoy ourselves just as adults. Additionally, we often hear people saying there’s nothing to do in this town, and we see parents posting requests for family-friendly events. So, we decided to create something that addresses all of the above, an event where one month, you can take the family, and the next, it can be a date day or a mom’s day out.

Brownstone Gardens lends itself perfectly to the whole vision. In the front, we have a handful of vendors, live music, food, and plenty of seating, all served up against the backdrop of a beautiful waterfall and an oasis of foliage. We have a place for our dance troupes to showcase their talent, and a bar, hosted by Skipolini’s. The bar is complete with adult beverages and the infamous Shirley Temple and Roy Rogers. We have a section devoted to vendors, and in the back, we have Bingo and all of our children’s activities, including face painting, lawn games, and a jumpy house so generously donated by Got A Party Inflatables. And it doesn’t end there. There is a lovely little garden area where we host our monthly Teas, an event inside an event. The live music sets a romantic backdrop to the Tea, and Jude, the owner of A Steep in Time pours from his wide selection of teas, dressed sophisticatedly like the Mad Hatter.

What do you love most about what you do?

We love bringing families together and connecting people within the community. But most of all we LOVE doing it as a family. At registration, you will meet my co-founder and daughter-in-law, Danielle. Setting up her food booth and rotating through a variety of menus you will meet my daughter, Jojo, and grandson, Cayse. Wandering about doing this and that you’ll meet my husband, Mark. Monitoring the rear grounds, my son Jacob, and his son Jack. Last but not least, behind the microphone, you will meet my youngest son, Dustin, sharing his heart through his music.  We also love that we get to pepper in things we are
passionate about like a book drive and a love for learning.

Anything exciting coming up for your business you'd like to share?

We have our monthly Sip n' Shop / Family Fun Days, March through December.  They are always on a Sunday at Brownstone Gardens in Oakley. Next up is our "Spring Has Sprung" Family Fun Day. That is coming up on April 14th, from 12:30 to 4:30. We'll have live music, mimosas, beer, sangria, local vendors, food, and live performances by the Keep in Time Dance Academy, as well as our Enchanted Garden Afternoon Tea, and a themed photo opportunity.

We’re also excited to give you a sneak peek into some future events that we are planning, including a Grand Ball—think Bridgeton, period-themed afternoon teas, and a variety of educational-themed events such as book drives.

Finally, we are excited about some other projects we have in the works where we can further our passion for books, learning, and promoting healthy emotions. Through one of our sister brands, we are proud to introduce our first children’s gratitude activity book and a variety of prompted journals to help guide growth and development. Our children’s activity books and prompted journals (for all ages) are available at any of our events. You can also pick up our children’s gratitude activity book from Amazon…and this is just the beginning.

How grateful I am that we have fun events like this happening right here in our neck of the woods! Go ahead and mark your calendars now for all of their fun, family friendly events coming up.
