We may be headed into cooler temps and more indoor activities, but for now, we're still squeezing in as many local parks as we can. Recently we visited Sage Glen Park in Brentwood for the first time and it was a hit with my 2 year old so here's what you need to know if you're looking for a new park to check out with your littles:
Here are some of the highlights from our most recent visit:
- It has mature trees on both sides of the park so there's lots of shade, which is not always easy to come by out here in Brentwood.
- There are pathways around the park so it's a good one to bring bikes or scooters to. You can see part of the path in the photo below.
- Lots of swings! Big kid swings, little kid swings, and a tire swing. Again, not always easy to come by at Brentwood parks.
- There are picnic benches and BBQs if you want to make it a lunch park date.
- The play structures have a lot to do for kids of all ages.
The downsides:
- It could use a little TLC. The paint on the structures was fading and there was some graffiti as well. (As you can see in the photo below)
- No bathrooms.
Overall we really enjoyed our visit. After watching a squirrel climb a tree, my daughter said "let's go find some more nature," and we proceeded to take a nature walk on the walking path. So it's safe to say she enjoyed it too.
