Creekside Park in Brentwood is a family favorite of ours so we are past due for a full review here on Macaroni KID Brentwood! Anytime I see someone ask for park recommendations in a local moms group I can almost guarantee someone will mention Creekside Park in Brentwood and it's easy to see why. There's a lot to love about this one!
Here are some of the highlights for us:
- There are play structures on both sides of the playground, one for big kids and one for littler ones, and they're both close enough together that you can keep your eye on multiple kids on opposite sides. A big plus for this mom with kids that are spread out in age.
- Tons of shade, both from shade structures and mature trees. As you probably know it gets HOT out here from April-October so finding a park with plenty of shade is huge!
- The Marsh Creek Trail is right next to the park so you can bring bikes and scooters for more opportunities for family fun.
- Swings on both sides of the playground (infant swings and big kid swings)
- There is a large stage area (seen in the pictures below) that is used for some community events, but my 2 year old also loves to use it to run around on for an added bonus of tiring her out before nap time.
- There is a new, CLEAN restroom.
- There is a Little Free Library next to the playground so you can bring books to leave, or grab a few on the way out.
Some of the downsides:
- The bigger play structure gets pretty high up there and it's not easily accessible to get to the top if you're a full grown adult. My little one got pretty high up and then couldn't get down and it was hard for me to get up there to get her.
- Because the trail is right next to the playground, you have to watch your little ones if they start to wander towards the trail. Kids can dart in front of bikes since the playground isn't entirely enclosed.
- That's it. Honestly it's hard to think of things we don't love about this park.
