Brentwood Hosts Inaugural Day of Service

A Day for the Whole Family to Give Back!

On Saturday, April 27, 2024, Brentwood hosted their first Community Day of Service.  The event was organized by local nonprofits and service groups, as well as the City of Brentwood.

As a local parent I'm always looking for ways to get my kids to be active in their community so I saw this as a great opportunity to bring them along as we helped with one of the many service projects happening at the event.

The event started off with free pancakes provided by The Rotary Club of Brentwood, coffee provided by Dutch Bros and shaved ice from Kona Ice! We got to hear a few words from some city leaders and then we were off to our various projects.

Some of the projects you were able to help with included:

- Donating Food & Clothing to Hope House

- Arbor Day Tree planting

- Marsh Creek Clean-Up

- Veteran's Park Clean-Up

- Writing Cards or Letters to cheer up others

- Pulling weeds and cleaning up at Heritage Culinary Arts Garden

- Donating Blood

And many more!

During the remarks from City Leaders we heard that they had over 700 people sign up to volunteer for this event and had almost 20 service projects happening simultaneously.

In case you needed a reminder that we live in the best community, seeing everyone coming together, wanting to help make our city even better was the perfect reminder.  A big thank you to everyone that supported this event!  Our family is already looking forward to attending again next year!
