The warmer weather is here and you may be ready to hit up some parks. Lucky for us we have plenty to choose from here in the Brentwood area.
We decided to visit Garin Park located at 231 Lawrence Lane in Brentwood one morning this week to get outside and enjoy the nice weather. If you're looking for a large park with lots of play structure options, this is a great one! Here are some of the highlights:
-The play structures are a castle theme which makes it extra fun for imaginative play.
-There is a sizeable play structure for the big kids (ages 5-12) and another sizeable play structure for littler ones (ages 2-5) so plenty of options for all ages.
-It's located in a quiet neighborhood, away from any busy streets but close enough to downtown that you could make a day out of a park visit and grabbing a bite to eat afterwards in Downtown Brentwood.
-There is a large grassy area right next to the play structures.
-There are several benches for seating and a couple of picnic tables as well.
- My favorite part: It's a pretty clean park with clean bathrooms, a clean sink outside the bathrooms for hand washing, and clean water fountains.
The only downsides I saw were there weren't any swings (swings are harder and harder to come by these days,) and there isn't a whole lot of shade provided by the shade structure (you can see from the photo it's pretty small.) However depending on the time of day you go, the large trees nearby provide some shade to parts of the play structures.
Overall this park is a great option for getting some outside play and we will definitely be back!
